Another Strong Night at Gladstone -:- 08 Jun 2008


James Murphy Racing headed back to Gladstone Speedway on the 7th of June, putting in an impressive display on a slick Gladstone track. James started out of 3rd place in Heat 1, moving up to 2nd place for the majority of the race whilst also putting pressure on race leader Dave McKie. James drifted up high mid race losing a spot to David Ohl, but James held on to finish in 3rd place. Heat 2 saw James start at the rear of the field and remarkably found himself up into 2nd place after only a few laps. Heat 3 also saw James finish in 2nd place, resulting in James amassing enough points to qualify for the 15 lap feature in 2nd place. James initially fell back to 3rd place whilst remaining in touch with the leading 2 cars, however a mistake from the two leading cars saw James get held up, allowing Q00 Rob Irwin to make an impressive pass around the outside. James held on to finish in 4th place ahead of Ben Genrich and Tony Bolan - the fourth time this season James has finished in 4th place.

6th Anniversy at Rocky -:- 10 May 2008


James Murphy Racing returned to the Rockhampton Speedway on the 25th of April, marking six years since the team had their first race - also at Rockhampton. Six years on it was clear to see how far the team had come, with James competitive the entire night, claiming the win in the 3rd heat of the night. James qualified 3rd for the feature before falling back to 5th in the early laps of the race, however after a race long battle with Ben Genrich and Andrew Baker, James passed Ben for 4th in the final corner, pulling along side Baker in 3rd place as the chequered flag fell just missing out on 3rd place to finish 4th.

6th place at QLD Title 2008 -:- 13 Mar 2008


James Murphy Racing returned to Toowoomba's Charlton Raceway on the 8th of March for the Queensland AMCA Nationals title. James finished mid field in each of his heats to qualify directly into the A-main in 14th place from a total of 32 cars. James ran a consistant race throughout the 30 lap final to finish on the lead lap in 8th place. Due to disqualifications of other cars, James was eventually classified in 6th place.

Gladstone Wrap 9th February -:- 13 Mar 2008


James Murphy Racing made their long awaited return to their home track at Gladstone on the 9th of February. It proved to be a competitive night for the team, putting the disappointing results of the last 2 races behind them. James finished 2nd in his first heat, and after drawing two 9th place starting positions in his second and third heats, worked his way up through the field to qualifing for the 20 lap final in 5th place. James moved up to 4th place in the opening laps and held off Q26 Shaun Obrien to claim 4th place.

Rocky Wrap 26th January -:- 13 Mar 2008


James Murphy made his return to Rockhampton Speedway on the australia day weekend. After a short time to repair the car from the crash in Kingaroy, the car was not quite back to normal. The car developed severe oversteer and saw James finish mid field in his heats and start the feature race from the back of the field. James worked his way up through the field will an ill handling car, and with other cars retiring from the race, James finished in a creditable 5th place.

The 19th of January saw the James Murphy Racing team head back to the Kingaroy Speedway. James qualified 5th for the top 6 shootout, and started the 20 lap feature race in 5th place. James got off to a good start, immediately moving up to 4th place, however after the Q18 car of Russ Hardy made a pass, James was hit from behind and spun in front of the field. Significant damage was made to the car, bending the front left chassis rail and rendering the car unsteerable.

Solid run in Gympie -:- 24 Dec 2007


James Murphy Racing have returned to the racetrack with a solid night of results at Gympie's Mothar Mountain Speedway. The night marked the team's first race at a speedway track in eight months with the team keen to get back on track. The night ran smoothly for the #63 car, with a 5th, 3rd and 4th placing in the three heats to qualify 4th for the 10 lap final. James found himself continually improving his race pace throughout the night, with the car's pace almost matching that of the top 3 cars. James went on to maintain his 4th place starting position finishing the shortened feature race in 4th place.

Delay to Season Start -:- 06 Oct 2007


Due to unforseen circumstances, the James Murphy Racing team have had to postpone the start of their season. The team will now concentrate on having the 63 car ready for the race on the 1st of December at the Gladstone Speedway.

Extra race dates have now been added to the calendar. The team will participate in most of the QLD Country Cup series and will return to the Rockhampton Speedway in January with the intention of competing at all of the remaining races at Rockhampton for the season.


JMR Announce 2007/2008 Season Plans -:- 03 Aug 2007


James Murphy Racing today announced their season 2007/2008 plans. The upcoming season will see the team compete more regularly in the South East corner of Queensland. The team will return this season to Mothar Mountain in Gympie and Charlton Speedway in Toowomba, with the QLD AMCA Title to be held in Toowoomba in March. The team will also be competing in the state's richest race, the QLD AMCA 5000, to be held in October. This race attracts $5000 in prize money with the feature race to be conducted over 40 laps, the longest race in the state. The team will start the season in chassis JMR#02, previously campaigned by James Murphy and Wade Taylor as QLD 36, with the intention of debuting chassis JMR#03 later in the season. JMR Launch New Website -:- 03 Aug 2007


Welcome to the new JMR team website. The new look website reflects the team's new direction and new season. The website is still under construction with some sections incomplete, however the website should be finished shortly. The cars this season will also undergo a transformation, sporting a new design and new colours. The new scheme will be revealed in September, before making it's racing debut in Brisbane on the 8th of October.

Latest JMR News -:- 02 Aug 2007


Plans are currently well underway for the 2007/2008 season for the JMR team. Work is continuing on the team's new chassis (JMR#03), however this chassis will not be ready for the start of the new season. James Murphy will start the season in the team's #02 chassis, as raced by James in the 2006/2007 under the 36 number. James will return to his regular number of 63 for the upcoming season, with the driver of the 36 car to be finalised at a later date. The team's BL02 engine will remain in the #02 chassis, whilst the team are currently rebuilding engine RE03 which was last raced by Wade Taylor in 2005 in the team's 36 car.
